First day of Coronavirus vaccinate in India – Union Health Ministry said on Saturday evening that,
more than 1.6 lakh people receive the 1st shots of the Covid-19 vaccine,
after launching a mega vaccination campaign in the country against the novel coronavirus earlier today.
A total of 16755 vaccinators involve in organizing the COVID-19 vaccination session.
The Ministry of Health state that
a total of 191181 beneficiaries vaccinate for Coronavirus on day 1 of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
The earlier number 165714 which record till 5:30 pm today.
Covishield produce by the Serum Institute of India to all states / union territories.
Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin supply to 12 states.
A ministry official said that a total of 3351 sessions conduct across the country with both vaccines.
The government also said that the COVID-19 vaccination campaign successful.
So far no cases of hospitalization after vaccination have report.
Since the first day of vaccination, some issues arose – delay in uploading beneficiary list at some session sites,
and vaccinate workers though not schedule for today’s session, the govt. clarify.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launch the vaccination program on Saturday,
and urging people to be patient during the Coronavirus immunization campaign,
as they have shown in fighting the epidemic so far.
Subsequently, Manish Kumar a sanitation worker at the hospital,
became the 1st person in India to be vaccinate against Covid-19.
AIIMS is one of the 3006 vaccination centers set up across the country.
The Drugs Controller General of India –
DCGI earlier this month approve the Covid-19 vaccine Covishield manufacture by the Serum Institute,
and indigenously develop India Biotech’s Covaxin for restrict emergency use in the country.
Government has already purchase 11 million doses of AstraZeneca Covishield shot,
manufacture by Serum Institute of India and 5.5 million of Covaxin of Bharat Biotech.
According to the Indian drug regulator, Covishield is 72% effective,
while Bharat Biotech says that the final phase trial results of Covaxin are expect by March.
