Maharashtra Government stops vaccination for the 18 to 44 age group due to shortage of doses and also extends lockdown till May 31.

Health Minister of Maharashtra Mr Rajesh Tope said that vaccine meant for the 18 to 44 age group now will be used for the second dose for above 45 years of age group.

So, Maharashtra stops vaccination for the 18 to 44 age group until the new doses arrive in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Government complaining about the vaccine shortage for a long time.

And they are asking to Central Government for more doses of the vaccine allocation for Maharashtra.

Maharashtra reported 46,781 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 Hour.

And 816 people lost their lives in the state.

So, Uddhav Government decides to extend the lockdown till May 31.

Only Essential services allowed to travel in this period of time.

Around 12 districts reported a decline in the cases But the remaining districts are either stable or increasing.

As of today, Maharashtra has the highest number of active cases of 6.57 Lakhs in the country.
