Google Celebrates Indian Swimmer Arati Saha’s 80th Birth Anniversary By Dedicate Google Doodle to her.

Arati Saha is the first women to awarded the Padma Shree Award back in 1960.
She was born on 24th September 1940.
Saha was born in Calcutta, West Bengal. She learnt swimming across the Hooghly river in her childhood days.
Arati Saha won her first gold medal at the age of just 5.
She broke many world record of swimming at the age of just 11.
When she was just 12 years old, she joined India’s first team in Olympic 1952 in Finland.
Just 4 women made it to that team and Saha was one of them.
Saha was the first Asian women to cross the English Channel when she was just 18 years of age.
Crossing English Channel is considered as climbing of Mount Everest in Swimming.
