Union Home-Minister Amit Shah arrive in Chennai on Saturday where he would participate in 3 events.

Amit Shah will 1st pay floral tributes to MG Ramachandran and former Chief Minister,

late Jayalalithaa at 4:30 pm as schedule for Chennai release by Shah from his office.

10 minutes later, Shah will inaugurate,

and set the substructure stone for development projects worth Rupees 67000 crore,

including Phase two of the Chennai Metro Rail.

Eventually, at a time 6 pm, he will meet Bharatiya Janata Party – BJP office bearers and district presidents in Tamil Nadu,

and is expect to discuss Tamil Nadu elections to be held next year.

Home minister visit come at a time when tensions with the,

BJP’s southern partner All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam –

AIADMK over the former’s Vetrivel Yatra victorious spear march are tense.

The state govt. has refuse permission, citing Covid-19 epidemic restrictions,

and the AIADMK mouthpiece called it divisive.
