PM Narendra Modi meet with all Chief Ministers over surge in Covid-19
PM Narendra Modi held a meeting with the CMs of all the states on the Covid-19 situation in the country,
and start the ongoing vaccination campaign.
Prime Minister Modi is holding a video conference to discuss issues with the chief ministers,
a practice they have doing regularly since the outbreak of the epidemic early last year.
PM Modi’s last conversation with the CM held in January 2021, before vaccines put in place.
At that time, he announce that the center would bear all the expenses of immunization of about 3 crore healthcare,
and frontline workers during the 1st round of vaccination. He also suggest that public representatives,
such as politicians, should not participate in the initial exercise.
The vaccination campaign has now shift gears and currently includes people who are over 60 years of age,
and those are above 45 age.
India report 26291 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, the highest single day spike in the last 85 days.
There 24492 new Covid Corona virus cases in the country on Tuesday with 131 more deaths.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that,
inappropriate behavior towards Covid-19 protocol is the reason behind this sudden spike in coronavirus cases.
Maharashtra report 17864 new coronavirus cases in a single day on Tuesday,
the highest one day increase for the state in 2021.
The last time the Western Indian state record more than 17000 cases in a single day back in September 2020.
