Tokyo Olympic 2021: India’s Men’s Hockey Team Won First Medal After 41 Years In Olympics


Tokyo Olympic 2021: Indian Hockey  Team beats Germany by 5-4 and wins a Bronze medal after 41 years in the Olympics.

This is the first Olympic Hockey medal for India in the last 41 years.

However, This is the 5th medal for India in Tokyo Olympic 2021.

India is behind Germany by 1-3 in the match.

But after that, India comes back superbly and beats Germany by 5-4 to claim the Bronze medal.

Goal Keeper Sreejesh saves a superb penalty just 6 seconds before the end of the play.

India now stands at no 3 in the world  Hockey rankings.

Simranjeet Singh scores 2 goals for India in the 17th and 34th minutes.

Then, Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinder Singh score goals in 27th, 29th and 31st minute respectively.

Germany started aggressively and scores one goal in just the 2nd minute of the match.

This is India’s 3rd hockey Bronze medal in the history of the Olympics.

The other two Bronze medals came in the 1968 Mexico City and 1972 Munich games.
