Toyota SUV Urban Cruiser Launch in India: Check Price, Features, Variants
After months of tweeting, Toyota has finally reveal a new rival, the Toyota Urban Cruiser in the sub compact SUV segment.
The new Urban Cruiser is the second car after the Glanza to be launched under Toyota’s agreement with Maruti Suzuki.
Price of the new sub compact SUV starts at INR 8.40 lakhs for the base variant -all prices ex-showroom & goes up to 11.30 Lakhs for the fully deck-top variant.
Compared to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the new Cruiser Launch at a nominal premium. The Brezza starts at ₹ 7.34 lakh and goes up to ₹ 11.15 lakh for the top variant.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor begin delivery of the urban cruiser from mid of October.
Terms of variants, Toyota will offer a total of 6 options.
The base variant starts at mid grade & goes up to premium grade AT.
Below are the prices for the variants :-
Mid Grade MT – manual transmission = ₹ 8.40 lakhs
Mid Grade A – Automatic= ₹ 9.80 lakhs
High Grade MT= ₹ 9.15 lakhs
High Grade AT= ₹ 10.65 lakhs
Premium Grade MT= ₹ 9.80 lakhs
Premium Grade AT= ₹ 11.30 lakhs
Urban Cruiser is power by a K=Series 1.5 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine & will be available in 3 variants of mid, high & premium manual transmission and automatic transmission options.
The Urban Cruiser comes with a Li-ion battery in the automatic version. This battery will increase the fuel efficiency of the car & also aid in torque generation.
Urban cruisers gives safety features such as dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution,
As well as hill hold control & reverse parking camera with display in audio.
At inside, it has a new 7inch Smart Playcast touchscreen & has four door speakers, two tweeters for audio.
The Smart Playcast touchscreen will support Android Auto / Apple CarPlay and smartphone based navigation.
The car gets dual tone dark brown interiors, engine start and stop button.
The Urban Cruiser on the exterior will get a 2 slat wedge cut grille with chrome & trapezoidal bold dog area.
The car will run on 16inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The front fascia gets dual function LED DRL-less indicators with dual chamber LED projector headlamps.
The car will get split LED tail lamps at the tail gate.
Toyota Urban Cruiser is less than four meters away & will compete with the Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon & Hyundai Venue.
The latest entrant in the segment, Kia Sonat will also compete in the same segment.
